Naija Super 8: Remo Stars, Katsina Utd share spoils

Remo Stars’ hope of booking a semi-final ticket in the Naija Super 8 was delayed after they were held to a 1-1 draw at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on Sunday.

In the 20th minute, Fabian Nworie successfully steered the ball home from close range following a corner kick for the opener, while Samson Olasupo of Katsina United scored the equalizer two minutes later.

Despite having numerous chances to score the winning goal, neither club was able to do so.

Remo Stars have four points after two games, maintaining their group A lead.

The team led by Daniel Ogunmodede defeated Enyimba 2-1 in their first match.

Meanwhile, Lobi Stars fought back from a goal down and defeated Rivers United 2-1 in the second match of Group B of the 2023 Naija Super 8 on Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.

In the 31st minute, a shot by Albert Korvah that was deflected into the goal gave Rivers United the lead.

In the 71st minute, a half-volley by Okoromi David brought Lobi level.

However, in the 96th minute, Chibuike Charles scored to give Lobi the victory.
