Nasarawa: Police confirm arrest of 1,165 suspects in 12 months

Adesina Soyemi, Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, says his men arrested a total of 1, 165 suspects for different offences in the state between January 1 and December 31.

The CP’s announcement is contained in a statement signed by ASP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state.

The statement read that a total of 104 suspected kidnappers, 102 robbery suspects, 309 suspected cultists, 50 rail track/slippers vandals, 61 rape suspects, two Indian hemp dealers, 25 internet fraudsters, 37 culpable for homicide and 475 other offenders were arrested within the period under review.

It also listed the exhibits recovered to include 38 bags of Indian hemp, 82 firearms, 1,116 munitions, 11 vehicles, 24 laptops, 45 motorcycles and 12 tricycles.

The statement attributed the successes recorded to the untiring support of the state government and the police high command.
