Navy enforces no movement order in Lagos State

BY BRIGHT JACOB

Officers of the Nigerian Navy have arrested two passenger boats in Lagos State that flouted the no movement order of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The restriction order was put in place by the INEC to restrict land, air and water movement throughout Nigeria as Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections hold across the country.

The boats detained in Lagos were seen tied to an anchor by the Naval officers.
Also, the officers were seen conducting “stop and search” on the waterways to prevent breakdown of law and order and troublemakers from disturbing the peace of the election in riverine communities in the state.
