The Anambra State Police Command has embarked on a rally against worsening kidnapping rate and violent crimes in the state.
Tagged Walk for Safety, the police rank and file campaigned vigorously against kidnapping and other criminalities by leveraging on the community support under the platform of the Police Community Relations Committee.
According to a statement issued by Tochukwu Ikenga, the command’s Public Relations Officer, the Walk aimed to promote peace and combat violent crimes in the state.
“During the Walk initiative at the Area Command in Nnewi, Nkwo Triangle, Nwafor Orizu Roundabout, First Bank Junction all in Nnewi, and Nnobi Junction the importance of collaboration in maintaining peace and security was highlighted. It also raised awareness about the impact of violent crimes, the need to foster a culture of peace and non-violence and strengthen the relationships between the Police and the community.
“This initiative can help to build trust, encourage community engagement, thereby contribute to a safer environment in the State,” the statement noted.
