Nigeria, on Wednesday, recorded a total of 1,424 new COVID-19 infections in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced this on its Website on Thursday morning, saying that with the 1,424 new infections, the country had recorded 220,000 COVID-19 cases.
The health agency said that Lagos State topped the chart with 796 cases, followed by Delta with 152 and the FCT with 130 cases.
The NCDC stated that 153 cases were reported in Delta State on December 13 and 139 on December 14.
The agency added that one person died of COVID-19 complications raising the country’s fatality toll to 2,983.
The centre said that 3,686,403 tests had been conducted since the virus was announced on February 27, 2020.
The NCDC noted that a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre, activated at Level II, continued to coordinate the national response activities.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Nigeria recorded a total of 730 new cases of COVID-19 in 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory on Tuesday.
