An Osun State High Court has declined bail applications brought before it by Dr Rahman Adedoyin and six of his hotel workers over the murder of Timothy Adegoke, the postgraduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Delivering a ruling on the applications, Chief Justice Adepele Ojo said the defendants’ medical conditions are not too serious not to be attended to by the correction service.

She added that the defendants have failed to prove that the correction service did not have adequate facilities to take care of their medical issues.

According to her, the nature of the offences preferred against the defendants demands that the court be cautious in granting such bail applications.

There was heavy security presence at the entrance and premises of the court as the ruling was ongoing.

Adedoyin, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwole Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem, Adebayo Kunle and Adedeji Adesola had been remanded on eleven count charges bothering on murder, conspiracy, felony amongst others.

Counsels to the defendants, Kunle Adegoke and K. K Eleja had argued the formal bail applications of all the defendants which were opposed by the prosecuting counsel, M O Omosun last week.
