Ogun State House of Assembly will from Monday, August 26, 2019 commence the monitoring of this year’s Budget Performance on various Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government, Local Government Councils and Local Council Development Areas in the state to find out their level of compliance with the 2019 Appropriation Law.
In a release signed by the Ag. Clerk of the House, Deji Adeyemo, the annual exercise is part of the oversight functions of the Legislative Arm of Government at promoting good governance and is in line with Sections 128 and 129 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
According to the statement, the annual budget performance assessment tour would commence at 10:00am each day and end on October 10, 2019.
All ministries, departments and agencies the state government as well as Local Government Councils and LCDAs are expected to make available relevant documents and information to the House Committee to ensure the exercise becomes successful.
