The Ogun State police command has arrested one
Dr. Emmanuel Ogah, for stabbing his biological mother to death.
His arrest followed a complaint from one Cletus Ogah, who reported at Itele Ota divisional headquarters that his younger brother had stabbed his mother, one Janet Ogah, to death.
Upon the complaint, the Divisional Police Officer of the
division, CSP Lukman Raheem, was said to have led detectives to the scene, at No 16 Ololade Street, Lafenwa Itele Ota, where the suspect was promptly arrested.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, who had just finished his NYSC program, came back home three days earlier and has being having quarrel with the deceased since then.
In his statement, the suspect claimed that his mother was in the habit of insulting and disgracing him in the presence of her apprentices and that he was frustrated into taken the life of his mother.
The corpse of the 62yrs old food vendor has been deposited at the general hospital morgue for autopsy. Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence department for further investigation.
