Ogun So-Safe arrests two over stealing of 7.5kva generator

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corps, has arrested Toyeeb Yekini and Ajie Victor for allegedly stealing a 7.5kva alternator diesel generator at Agoro community, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.

This was contained in a press statement issued on Saturday by the office of the State Commander of the Corps, Soji Ganzallo, through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf.

The officers of the corps in Ado-Odo/Ota Zonal Command, under AC Tajudeen Odunmbaku, acting on information, were said to have been deployed to Agoro community to counter burglary activities in the axis.

It was gathered that at about 0100hrs on February 22, 2024, there was an emergency call from the community calling for the intervention of the So Safe Corps, and at about 0126hrs, two suspects, Toyeeb Yekini and Ajie Victor, were intercepted on a motorbike.

The statement further said, “The apprehended suspects confessed to have come to the area almost two hours ago when they stole a 7.5kva alternator diesel generator put off by themselves while in use.

“The generator was recovered from where it was kept at Ilepa in Ifo Local Government Area.

“The suspects confessed further that they decided to return to carry out the second criminal act to steal a petrol generator in the same generator room before they were stopped on the road by officers of the corps.

“The suspects revealed that there was a man, otherwise called Indomie, at Ijako who bought the stolen items.

“The following were also listed as members of their team stirring the water of peace in Agoro axis; Omo Wise, Mtn, Foldest and Shuaib.”

The suspects and the exhibits were, however, said to have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Sango Divisional Police Headquarters, for further investigation and likely prosecution.
