The embattled Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Oluomo was released on Friday after spending one night at the EFCC office in Abuja for alleged fraud and financial misappropriation.
He was arrested on Thursday morning by EFCC officials at the Lagos Airport after he allegedly failed to honour several invitation of the commission.
Confirming the development, Oluomo’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, AbdulGhaffar Adeleye, said his boss was released on Friday.
“My boss is at home, the public should disregard the rumour that he was taken to Abuja for questioning,” he said.
