Ohaneze issues scorecard on S’East governors’ first 100 days

Following a series of on-the-spot-assessment and project evaluation initiated by the South East governors in their respective states to commemorate their first 100 days in office, the Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Okechukwu Isiguzoro has issued a statement on the performance of the governors.

The assessment was carried out by the apex-igbo body and pro-democracy and rights advocacy groups in the country.

Isiguzoro noted with satisfaction that the governors have hit the ground running in their various states

The group particularly lauded the Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State for demonstrating commitment to good governance and inclusiveness of stakeholders in steering the affairs of the state.

According to Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Nwifuru had equally displayed effective and efficient leadership by facilitating and providing jobs opportunities for the youths across all the local government areas in Ebonyi State, describing him as the “emerging pro-democracy governor of note,” who had so far exhibited needed capacity and competence in governance of the state.

According to the pan-igbo ethnic nationality group: “Governor Nwifuru hit the ground running in building of critical infrastructures, which is tilted at consolidating the lofty accomplishment of his predecessor, Senator Dave Umahi.”

The highest socio-cultural umbrella body in Igboland added: “Nwifuru’s records in his first 100 days in office show that he is leading other newly elected southeast governors in delivering good governance.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo, however, noted that other newly elected governors were engaged in endless battles of probes of their predecessors and tribunals against their guber electoral victories which have thrown off governance in their various States.”

Ohanaeze admonished other governors from the South East to emulate Nwifuru and focus on delivering good governance to every doorstep.

The group concluded by calling on people of South East zone to support their governors in their collective efforts to develop the region.”
