BY ROTIMI DUROJAIYE

Disquiet is brewing in Lagos State chapter of All Progressives Congress, as a chieftain of the party in the state, Fouad Oki, has written the national secretariat of the party, demanding for the list of delegates that will participate in the state congress scheduled to hold on Saturday.

Consequently, Oki, a former vice chairman of the APC in the state, has forwarded two letters to the national caretaker committee of the party.

In two separate letters, addressed to the chairman of the APC National Caretaker Committee, Mai Mala Buni, copies of which were sent to the Secretary of the Committee, its Director of Organisation and Director of Legal Services of the Committee, Oki is demanding for the list of delegates, statutory and elected, who are expected to participate in the Congress on Saturday.

In the letters obtained exclusively by The Point, Oki also reminded the Committee by a previous ruling of the court which ordered that the Congress be conducted on 20 local government structure.

Published below are the two letters:

Dear Sir,

Demand for the List of Delegates for Lagos State Congress

The Federal High Court of Nigeria on 6th October, 2021, delivered judgment in the above suit which I was the Plaintiff.

The Court held that it is only 20 Local Governments that are recognized by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and nothing more. I shall call on you on Thursday 14th October, 2021 for the collection of the above-subject matter.

Yours faithfully,
