Onabule contributed immensely to the growth of journalism, Nigeria – Amosun

Former Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun has commiserated with the Onabule family, on the passing of Duro Onabule, veteran journalist and former presidential spokesman to Gen. Ibrahim Babangida.

Onabule died on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at the age of 83 years.

Amosun, while also condoling with the former Head of State, Babangida, and the Nigerian Union of Journalists, described Onabule as a foremost journalist who contributed immensely to the growth of journalism and the development of our nation.

The former Governor noted that Onabule discharged himself creditably well in all areas of his journalism practice, adding that his objective and analytical contributions to issues of national importance will be sorely missed.

“He was a successful journalist who exhibited hard work, professionalism, and candor during his meritorious career as a reporter for the Daily Express, London correspondent of the Express, deputy editor of Daily Times, editor of Concord newspaper, a columnist in The Sun Newspapers, and the presidential spokesman to the then Nigeria’s Head of State, Gen. Babangida, among others.

Amosun prayed that the Almighty God will grant the renowned journalist eternal rest, and give his children, grandchildren and the entire Onabule family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
