Three members of the House of Representatives – one from the People’s Democratic Party and two from the New Nigeria Peoples Party, have officially dumped their parties for the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The lawmakers who resigned from their parties included Oluwole Oke (Osun, PDP) as well as Kabiru Rurum and Abdullahi Rogo (NNPP), both from Kano State.

They announced their decision to pitch their tents with the APC during plenary on Thursday.

Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, read their letters while presiding over the affairs of the lower chamber.

Oke, a six-term lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in Osun State, had on April 23 indicated plans to part ways with the PDP.

The lawmaker said he decided to leave the PDP after consulting with his political associates, friends, and family members.

APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, was in the Chamber to witness the defections.

He was in the company of the FCT Minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, and other APC leaders from Kano State.
