Organising committee plans big for 20th Nigeria cup

As preparations for the 20th in the series of Nigeria Cup, a week-long golf tournament put in place to celebrate the nation’s Independence anniversary, gathers momentum, the Chairman of the 2016 event organising committee, Bayo Alli, has said that this year’s edition will be a special one.
He, therefore, appealed to well meaning Nigerians, members of Ikoyi club and corporate organisations for support.
Speaking in Lagos during the week, Alli said the appeal became necessary to enable the organisers raise the needed fund to executive the programmes already earmarked for the event.
While disclosing that this year’s edition will be a very unique one, Alli added that the organising committee promises value for all members of the club, sponsors and corporate Nigeria.
“A Nigerianised Nigeria Cup is what we will see come October 1st. This year’s Nigeria Cup is going to be different in many ways if you look at the programmes we are working on. It will be used to showcase what made us Nigerians, in terms of the fashion, food, art and every other area,” Alli said.
He further explained that the competition would involve professional golfers, who will compete in the full professional and amateur event. The Pro-Am, he said, would involve single handicap players.
