According to Wike, the presidential candidates of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and his New Nigeria National Party counterpart, Rabiu Kwankwaso, would also be in the state to open some projects.

He also confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari would be in the state to inaugurate the Port Harcourt Campus of the Nigeria Law School.
