Osinbajo has improved Nigeria’s economy – Cleric

The Bishop of Flock of Christ Mission, Bishop Simeon Okah, has applauded Acting President Yemi Osinbajo for living up to Nigerians’ expectations in his current capacity, urging him to continue the good work until President Muhammadu Buhari’s return to the country.

While appealing to Nigerians to pray for an improvement of President Buhari’s health, Okah commended Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for holding forth for his boss.

He added that Osinbajo has done “marvelously well” from the way he had handled the economy since President Buhari travelled out of the country on sick leave.

Okah, who spoke in Warri ahead of the Flock of Christ Missions 2017 World Convention scheduled to hold between March 12 and 19, also urged the Federal Government to publish the names of those who have looted Nigeria’s treasury.

The cleric noted that the anti-corruption fight of the Buhari administration would be meaningless if the names of the looters were not made public, saying that publishing the names of looters would enable Nigerians to identify them during any election so that they would not make the mistake of voting for them.

Okah, however, picked holes in Buhari’s anti-graft war, alleging that the crusade was not thorough as many individuals serving in his cabinet but alleged to be corrupt were still in government.

The Bishop of Flock of Christ Mission lamented that politicians who have decamped to the All Progressives Congress from other parties were being protected by the ruling party APC, rendering the anti-graft war selective.

He noted that corruption was killing the country and that if drastic measures were not urgently taken, Nigerians would continue to wallow in abject poverty, adding that leaders needed the fear of God and wisdom to govern the country.

“We all know that the problem of this country since the 70s is corruption. God has blessed this country with anything that you can call blessing. But why is it not working? It is because of corruption.

Are you not aware that our sons and daughters who are in other countries are doing well?” he said.

Okah also lamented that Nigerians had not learnt from history and warned that if care was not taken, the APC would do worse than the PDP, judging from the way the ruling party had been handling the President’s health issue.
