Ahead of the 2022 governorship election in Osun State, the National Union of Road Transport Workers, on Wednesday, endorsed Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for second term in office, saying that other politicians eyeing the seat should wait for their turn.

The NURTW members thronged the Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo the state capital, to declare their support for the governor whom they described as an extraordinary leader.

The Chairman of the Osun NURTW, Olelakan Folorunso, said the union decided to endorse Oyetola after assessing his achievements in the last three years.

Folorunso, who doubled as the Zone 2 Council Chairman (NURTW South-West), described Oyetola as a man of outstanding leadership traits, adding that the union in particular and the state in general benefitted from his sterling qualities.

In his response, the governor lauded the NURTW in Osun State for what he called the open show of support for his administration.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party in the state has advised the governor to concentrate on governance instead of “window shopping for second term from the unwilling members of the public.”

The Director of Media of the PDP in the state, Oladele Bamiji, gave the advice in a statement on Wednesday, saying that no amount of endorsements would save him from losing at the poll.
