THE Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has debunked claims that it has endorsed Senator Ademola Adeleke as its candidate for the 2022 Governorship election in the state.

A former Chairman of the party in the South-West, Tajudeen Oladipo, said leaders of the party in Osun had yet to ratify a candidate for the forthcoming poll.

Oladipo, a chieftain of the PDP in the state, dismissed the speculation that the party had endorsed Adeleke, adding that it was not yet time for the party to select a candidate.

Speaking on a radio programme monitored by our correspodent in Osogbo, Oladipo said the time was not ripe for the party and its leaders to embark on the selection or anointment of any of the qualified party members for the 2020 Governorship elections.

He said every eligible PDP member was entitled to contest the ticket, stating that the party members would decide who would flag the party’s ticket.

Oladipo, a former Chairman of Osogbo Local Government, said, “Osun PDP has yet to anoint anybody as its candidate for the 2022 Governorship Elections. I don’t know where the person that said we had adopted a candidate heard that from. It is not even in our agenda now.”

He noted that PDP leaders were doing everything possible to settle the crisis rocking the party amicably.
