A Cleric, Prophet Adeyemi Adeniran of Great Tabernacle Miracle Church of God, (Mountain of Change), Ejigbo Road, Ojo, Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu over his inauguration as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Adeniran also lambasted some popular Nigerian pastors who reportedly made prophesies that the recently concluded 2023 general elections would not hold and that President Bola Tinubu wouldn’t emerge, saying, “you disgraced yourselves and not God whom you claimed sent you.”
In a statement he personally signed and issued on Thursday, the religious leader described President Tinubu as a political juggernaut with remarkable achievements during his past endeavours in public offices.
Prophet Adeniran, popularly known as Baba Lesekese, called on Nigerians to give the new administration the needed support to right the wrongs in the country, noting that President Tinubu appeared very committed and ready to turn things around in Nigeria.
“I join multitude of people in Nigeria and across the globe in congratulating His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima on their inauguration as the President and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Their emergence is a dream come true for Nigerians and I have no doubt that President Tinubu will bring his wealth of experience and network to bear in piloting the affairs of this great nation.
“I want to call on fellow Nigerians to give the new government maximum support and also continue to exhibit undivided patriotism to our dear country, Nigeria. I pray that God who has granted us peaceful and seamless transition into another democratic dispensation will grant the new leaders the needed wisdom and wherewithal to deliver to the wellness of our nation and glory of God. Amen. Congratulations to His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima,” Adeniran said.
Expressing displeasure and disappointment over the “shameful roles” played by some clergymen before and during the general elections whereby some made false prophecies that the polls would not hold and that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu wouldn’t emerge President, Adeniran asked clerics to desist from venturing into acts capable of drawing the noble clergy into disrepute by churning out false prophecies just to trend or become popular.
“I want to use this medium to express my disappointment at some actions of some people who called themselves men of God who gave out fake prophecies in the build up to the 2023 general elections. It is shameful of them to be using the name of God to score cheap political points. Some even went as far as saying that the elections won’t hold while others played to the gallery by declaring that Asiwaju Tinubu won’t become President.
“For all those so called pastors who made these fake prophecies, I want to tell you that you only disgraced yourselves and not the God whom you claimed sent you. All these acts are capable of making the clergy laughing stock before the people and I want to urge all religious leaders to watch their utterances and desist from issuing false prophecies,” he said.
