Osun market fire incident: Adeleke offers prayers to victims

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has condoled with the victims of the unfortunate fire incident at the popular Idiseke Market, Osogbo and prayed that they have fortitude to bear their losses.

Some shops at the market located along Idiseke-Station Road, had in the late hours of Saturday, January 7, 2023, razed down by fire while various goods were destroyed.

Describing the incident as unfortunate, Adeleke, in a statement signed by his Spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Monday, also prayed for the affected traders to have the fortitude to bear the loss.

The governor commended the timely intervention of the gallant men of the Osun State Fire Service, saying their timely intervention prevented further spread of the inferno across the market.

He said, “I sympathize with my people that were affected by the fire incident. It is unfortunate to experience such at this critical time of global economic crisis.

“I urge all the people of Osun State to continue to take precautionary measures and put in place necessary apparatus to prevent incidence as related to Fire outbreak,” he added.
