A traditional ruler in Osun State, the Olufon of Ifon in Orolu Local Government Council Area of the State, Oba Almorouf Adekunle Magbagbeola, Olumoyero II, is dead.
According to palace sources, the monarch joined his ancestors on Monday, April 19, but his death was made known to the public on Tuesday.
The first class monarch was said to have joined his ancestors after a brief illness. He was born in the late 50s.
Mourners, mostly residents of the town had gathered gathered at the palace of the monarch on Tuesday to sympathise and express sadness over the demise of the monarch.
When contacted, the National Publicity Secretary of Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union, Prince Jide Akinyooye, disclosed that residents of the town were awaiting official communication from the State Governor.
“We await official communication from the governor,” he said.
Oba Magbagbeola was the paramount ruler of Irepodun/Orolu Traditional Council. He was also king of three communities of Ifon, Ilobu and Erin-Osun, and deputy chairman of the state Council of Obas.
The deceased monach was working as an administrative officer in NNPC in Warri, Delta State before he was installed king on May 28, 2007.
