Osun NUJ, SWAN congratulate Adeleke, urge gov-elect to run inclusive government

Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun State Council and the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, the state chapter have congratulated the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke, over his victory in the just concluded governorship election in the tate.

A statement by the Chairman of the Union, Wasiu Ajadosu and the Secretary, Bukola Elufadejin urged the governor- elect to be magnanimous in victory and see his emergence as an opportunity to improve the life of citizenry as well as an avenue to uplift the socioeconomic life of the State.

The statement further implored the winner to run an all inclusive government and listen to every strata of the society so as to give every citizen a desired sense of belongings.

“You must never loose guard and endeavour to make people the core of your administration by realizing that sovereignty belongs to the people and government’s programmes and policies must be people oriented.

“We hope and pray that you will bring your political experience to bear in this new assignment,” the statement read.

SWAN, in a release signed by the Chairman, Timothy Agbor and the Secretary, Tajudeen Amodu described Adeleke’s victory as a call to serve and an avenue to add value to the existing structure of the state.

“We congratulate the Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Deputy Governor-Elect, Prince Kola Adewusi who was our guest last month and the PDP for the success recorded in the last election.

“We want to remind you that this is a litmus test for you and a task that is demanding, given the current situation of the state and its economy.

“We hope that Sports sector will witness tremendous development and the state will be better for it during your administration,” the statement concluded.
