Former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola led-Reconciliation Committee on Monday convoked a peace meeting between aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State.

The reconciliation meeting which held at the Okuku residence of Oyinlola in the state had in attendance governorship aspirants for the July 16 governorship election.

At the end of the meeting, one of the governorship aspirants in the party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, commended the elders and leaders of the party for the efforts at resolving the crisis rocking it.

The 2018 governorship candidate of PDP in the state, in a statement issued by the Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation, described the peace meeting as successful.

The former Senator described the meeting as “fruitful with commendable resolutions and conclusions.”

The statement disclosed that Senator Adeleke participated fully at the Okuku meeting, contributed constructively; and he was satisfied with proceedings and resolutions reached.

“I commend our leaders for the successful outcome of the meeting. I associate myself with the resolutions reached . PDP is now one big united family in Osun State. I accepted the resolutions reached even though I left afterwards to attend to urgent family issues.

“We urge PDP members to sustain the peace efforts and avoid rumour mongering that may derail the successful conclusion of the ongoing reconciliation moves,” Adeleke was quoted in the statement.

Recall that the national leadership of PDP had given the reconciliation panel one week to liaise with the six aspirants of Osun PDP for the gubernatorial election and resolve their grievances amicably.

The aspirants include Adeleke; the former Secretary to Osun State Government, Fatai Akinbade; Akin Ogunbiyi; Omirin Olusanya, Dele Adeleke and Dotun Babayemi.
