The Osun State Sports Writers Association has hailed the state governor, Ademola Adeleke for the official flag-off of the remodelling project of the Osogbo Township Stadium.

A statement signed by the association’s Chairman, Timothy Agbor, and Assistant Secretary, Segun Fadoro on Tuesday, described the landmark development as a testament to the governor’s unwavering commitment to the growth and advancement of sports infrastructure in the state.

The association expressed belief that the remodelling of the stadium will significantly boost the sports culture in the state, offering a better platform for nurturing sporting talents and hosting events of greater magnitude.

“We are confident that with this initiative, the state’s sports sector will reach new heights,” the association stated.

However, SWAN asked the state government and the contractor to ensure that the project is completed to time.

“While we acknowledge the efforts of the state government in initiating this project, we also urge the contractor to ensure that the remodelling work is done with the utmost quality and diligence.

“It is our expectation that the project will be completed within the stipulated one-year duration as outlined in the contract, and that the work meets the highest standards of excellence.

“The Osun State Sports Writers Association will continue to monitor the progress of the project and lend our full support to the successful completion of this vital initiative,” the statement noted.
