The Governor of the State of Osun, Adegboyega Oyetola, has approved the appointment of Rasheed Olalere Alabi as the new Accountant General of the State.
A statement signed for the Head of Service by the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Leye Aina, said the appointment takes effect from May, 21, 2022.
Aina said the appointment was consequent upon the voluntary retirement of the incumbent Accountant General, Moses Sunday Igbaroola, from the civil service on the attainment of the mandatory retirement age of 60 years.
Alabi is currently the Director, Treasury and Pension Services, Office of the Accountant General. He is a seasoned technocrat and a Chartered Accountant who is efficient in the discharge of his duties.
The Governor has equally approved, with immediate effect, the appointment of Mrs. Taiwo Temilade Adeagbo as the Executive Secretary of the newly established Osun State Senior Secondary Schools Education Board.
Adeagbo is currently the Director, Public Schools, State Ministry of Education.
Meanwhile, the national body of Ilobu-Asake Development Union has congratulated Alabi on his appointment as the Accountant General of Osun State.
Its national president, Olufemi Salako, in a statement on Wednesday, described the elevation as reward for hard work, resilience, integrity and dedication of Alabi, which according to him are symbols of every Ilobu son and daughter.
The statement partly reads, “On behalf of the Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Asiru Olatoye Olaniyan II, the national executive committee of Ilobu-Asake Development Union, sons and daughters of Ilobu home and in Diaspora, I congratulate you on your elevation as the Osun State Accountant General.
“Your appointment is no doubt a reward for your dedication, resilience, integrity and unquantifiable hard work which I believe, are symbols of every son and daughter of Ilobu-Asake. While we have no doubt in our minds that you will not only excel in your new role as the number one accountant in Osun, we also believe you’ll make Ilobu proud more.”
The IDU president also commended Governor Oyetola for finding Alabi worthy of the appointment.
