Pandemonium struck on Thursday night after a fully loaded fuel tanker exploded at Apata junction (opposite Oando filling station), along Ibadan/Abeokuta road.
The tanker, which was said to have been coming from the NNPC area, lost control and rammed into some shops opposite the filling station and immediately burst into flames.
The explosion wreaked havoc in the area but The Point could not determine the casualty figure in the incident as at the time of filing this report.
Fear has been intensified as the fire was also said to have extended to some residential buildings around the area.
