FRED Udeogu has been reappointed as the Ebonyi State Peoples Democratic Party Caretaker Chairman for the second time.
Udeogu who was recently reappointed to pilot the affairs of the party in the state for the next three months by the PDP National Working Committee, disclosed this to newsmen during an interview in his office at Abakaliki.
The chairman insisted that despite the exit of Governor David Umahi and his appointees from the party, the PDP was still stable, legitimate, strong and united.
He assured members that he would reorganize the party in the state ahead of their expected victory in the 2023 general elections.
Udeogu regretted that his first tenure in office was characterised by crisis and litigations, even as they still expected some more fights from APC but assured that the party from 2023 would galvanize the state to greater heights of progress.
He admonished all Ebonyians to resist intimidations from the opposition party and remain in PDP to guarantee a better Ebonyi state.
He said, “The first tenure of three months as the caretaker chairman of PDP in Ebonyi State was engulfed by a lot of needless litigations and we have no cause for such. The governor that left us just decided to initiate that. When he was leaving PDP, he thought that it was going to be a push over, and that he would be there coordinating and controlling the affairs of PDP.
“I kept emphasizing that Onyekachi Nwaebonyi was never in the PDP rather he was in APC as at the time of having these litigations. He kept on saying that he was in PDP but he was just a proxy member who was trying to destabilize things for the party.
“So, we still expect some fight from them. For now, our focus as people with blueprints, is to look towards reorganizing the party in such a structure that we will be able to wrestle power from APC, because whether anybody likes it or not, PDP is still in control of Ebonyi State.”
