Police arraign four for Ombatse killings

Five years after about 70 security operatives were killed by members of the dreaded Ombatse militia group in Alakyo village in Nasarawa State, four suspects were, on Tuesday, arraigned in connection with the killings before a Nasarawa State High Court, Lafia.

The suspects were arraigned on 73 charges.

The victims of the killings, it was learnt, were policemen and operatives of the Department of State Services, who were ambushed by members of the Ombatse militia group at Alakyo Village, Lafia Local Government, on May 7, 2013.

The accused include Mohammed Asanya, Saidu Yakubu, Angwolo Attah and Enugu Baba, all of Alakyo College in the Lafia Local Government Area of the state.
