The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Olatunji Disu, has revealed that the command has arrested 13 of its officers for indecent dressing during patrol operations by the Monitoring Unit in various parts of the state.
He said that the arrest, which was made last week, was part of an ongoing effort to eradicate indecent dressing by officers of the command.
Disu also revealed that the head of the Units or Divisions where the arrested police officers are serving would be liable for the personnel’s action.
He disclosed that the arrested officers were detained.
Meanwhile, Disu has assured that the killing of SP Bako Angbashim, the Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Police Division would not be swept under the carpet.
Angbashim was allegedly killed by suspected Iceland cult members led by one Gift David, popularly known as 2Baba.
Disu said he was overwhelmed by the concern shown by members of the public on the killing of the DPO.
