Police arrest fraudster with fake currency notes

The police in Ogun have arrested a 41-year-old self-acclaimed herbalist, Bidemi Idowu, and found in possession of various denominations of local and foreign currencies suspected to be fake.
Trouble started for the herbalist cum fraudster, when one Basiru Amosun, reported at Imeko Divisional headquarters that the suspect fraudulently collected the sum of N400,000 from his 21-year-old son, Habeeb Amosun, under the pretence that he would prepare a money doubling charm for him.
Consequently, he allegedly gave a liquid concoction to the victim, which caused him to develop serious stomach disorder.
Upon the report, the DPO, CSP Ajose Muhammed, detailed detectives to effect the arrest of the suspect with a search warrant to search his house.
During the search of the house, the sum of N400,000 allegedly collected from the victim was recovered. Also recovered  are 59 pieces of 1,000 fake CFA, I piece of 50 US Dollars, 600 pieces of fake N1,000 notes and assorted charms.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect, added that state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had directed that the suspect be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
He equally appealed to parents to educate their children on why they should desist from unnecessary quest for quick money.
