The Oyo State Police Command has apprehended three persons suspected to have killed a final year student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, Miss Rachael Opadele and a hotelier, Olugbenga Owolabi.

Their arrest came three months after the police launched an investigation into their deaths.

Confirming the arrest on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Adewale Osifeso, disclosed that the suspects were arrested in the early hours of Thursday.

Opadele was said to be writing her project at the university before she was kidnapped and murdered alongside Owolabi, an Ogbomoso-born and United States-based hotelier.

The two of them were abducted on July 29, 2022 at the hotel located in the Abaa area of Ogbomoso.

The kidnappers had earlier demanded a N5 million ransom for the release of the victims.

Owolabi’s corpse had been flown to the US for burial while Opadele had also been buried.
