Police arrest two for allegedly slitting neighbour’s throat in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two suspects identified as Abdullateef Yakubu and Yakubu Olanrewaju of Shao Garage area, Ilorin, for allegedly slitting the throat of a neighbour over a disagreement.

It was gathered that the incident occurred around 12:00 am on Monday at Shao Garage in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.

A source familiar with the matter said that a brother of the victim, AbdulRazaq Babatunde, who was attracted by the shout of a resident, came out during the period only to find his younger brother, Abubakar Babatunde, in the pool of his blood bleeding from his slit throat.

“He was subsequently rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for medical attention,” the source added.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said the incident was reported at the police station and two people have been arrested.

“We are still investigating the matter and the needful will be done after the investigation,” the PPRO said.
