Police arrest woman for kidnapping boy, 4, in Nassarawa

The Intelligence Response Team attached to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has arrested a female kidnap suspect, Patience Benedict, for allegedly abducting a four-year-old boy, Peter Okpe, in Nassarawa State.
Our correspondent gathered from a source at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja that the little boy was kidnapped by the suspect at the Cassava Market area of Masaka.
According to the source, the boy was declared missing two days ago, when his parents could not ascertain his whereabouts after more than 24 hours.
The young boy was later rescued by the ITR while the suspect was arrested.
“IRT operatives received a report that a 4-year-old boy named Peter Okpe was kidnapped at Cassava Market area of Masaka in Nassarawa State by an unknown woman.
“After serious intelligence operations and support from TIU, on 14/12/2016 at about 1800hrs, operatives traced the suspect, one Patience Benedict, 25yrs and native of Kagoma in Kaduna State and arrested her at Phase 4 area of Kubwa in Abuja. The kidnapped child was rescued unhurt”, the police source said.
