The Ebonyi State Police Command has assured the residents of the state that it has beefed up security in order to curb crime and criminality during and after Easter celebration.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Aliyu Garuba, gave the assurance in a statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson Loveth Odah.

The statement read that security measures were in place to prevent criminal activities.

It indicated that the Divisional Police Officers and heads of Tactical/Operational Units of the command had been ordered to deploy operational arsenals at their disposal and collaborate with sister security agencies and local vigilantes through patrols of their Areas of Responsibility.

It added that the CP also directed the Assistant Commissioners of Police in charge of the six Area Command Headquarters in the state to ensure the deployment of Police personnel across the state for crime prevention at all the identified flashpoints.

The statement read that “The CP, while urging all to celebrate responsibly, enjoined them to remain law-abiding, vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement of persons/groups or mysterious objects noticed in any private or public place to the nearest Police Station or call the Police emergency numbers for quick response.”
