The Kano State Police Command has arraigned a lady, Sa’datu Adamu, before an Upper Shariah Court sitting in Kano for allegedly stealing an android phone.

The complainant, Amina Suleiman, who told the court that she works as a matchmaker, alleged that the defendant engaged her to search for a husband for her but ended up stealing her mobile telephone set during consultation.

While giving evidence, Amina said that her client took the mobile phone when she took an excuse to attend to a domestic issue in the course of the consultation.
She said that she discovered that her phone was missing immediately the husband seeker left her place.

Amina said, “I am a matchmaker. Sa’datu came to my house recently to ask me to help her look for a husband.

“She wanted me to help her find a policeman who will marry her; I then told her that at that time, I didn’t have a policeman on the list of my male clients.

“After our discussion, I left her in my sitting room to attend to some domestic issues. When I was done, she decided to leave. I saw her off to the door. When I got back to the room where we sat, I discovered that my android phone was missing.”

The defendant, however, denied the allegation leveled against her.

The presiding Khadi, Bello Musa Khalid, adjourned the case till November 15 for further hearing.

The court ordered that the defendant should be released on bail with two sureties. The Khadi said that one of the sureties must be an Hisbah officer.
