Police drag suspected robber to court for burgling woman’s house

The Osun State Police Command has arraigned a 35-year-old-man, Ademola Kazeem, for allegedly breaking into a woman’s house and stealing her belongings.

Kazeem was said to have stolen assorted wine, other drinks, cash and wire from the Igbalaye Street, GRA, Osogbo residence of her victim, Abiola Abioye, in the month of March.

The charge pressed against him read that “Ademola Kazeem on March 27, 2022 at Igbalaye Street, GRA, Osogbo did break and enter into the dwelling house of one Abiola Abioye and committed felony therein.

“You (defendant) at the same place and time, did steal 27 bottles of assorted wine, 12 pieces of Schweppes bitter lemon, one and half rolls of 2.5mm wire and cash sum of N65,000 only, all totaled N423,500,00 only, properties of one Abiola Abioye.”

Police prosecutor, Inspector Fatoba Temitope, said that Kazeem committed offences contrary to and punishable under sections 411 and 390(6)of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume II, Laws of Osun State, 2002.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence without having legal representation.

Magistrate A. Adebayo granted him bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in the same amount.

The matter was adjourned till June 27 for hearing.
