Preserve land to check natural disasters, surveyors tell govt

Surveyors in Ogun State have urged the Federal Government to preserve the use of land through mapping, planning and management in order to reduce natural disasters.
The surveyors, under the auspices of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, said if government considered the conservation of the use of lands in states and across the country, it would create favourable environment for the people.
The state Chairman, NIS, mr. Tunde Ashaye, said this at the 2017 Sanyaolu Memorial Lecture, held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Guest Lecturer on the occasion, Dr. Ebenezer Nkom, a consultant surgeon at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, spoke extensively on the topic: “Issues in Health Care In Nigeria.”
