According to the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the names were sent to the upper chamber in a letter to Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday.
The letter to the Senate president contained the following as the nominees:
Prof. Ummu Ahmed Jalingo (North East); Prof. Justitia Odinakachukwu Nnabuko (South East); Prof. Mike Obadan (South-South); Dr. Abdu Abubakar (North West); and Adeola Adetunji (South West).
The appointments were in accordance with sections 6 (1) (d) and 10 (1) and (2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Establishment) Act, 2007.
Meanwhile, President Buhari had last month approved the appointment of an interim Managing Director and Executive Directors for the Bank of Agriculture.
