He disclosed that the proprietress of Favour International Secondary School is currently being investigated after she was alleged to have defrauded some of his students by collecting money from them for an examination that never existed.
Nwobasi said, “We just shut down one school now where the management collected money from students to register them for Basic Certificate Examinations but never did. The school, Favour International Secondary School located in Enyibichiri Oshiegbe in Ezza North Local Government Area of state doesn’t have approval of Ebonyi State Ministry of Education for that examination to be taken there. In fact, the school is an illegal one.
“We found out that she collected money from 39 students promising to register them for the ongoing Basic Certificate Examinations which she never did. So we have asked her to refund the exact money to all the students. We have also shut down the unapproved school.
“Ebonyi State government is committed to ensuring the state educational sector is second to none in Nigeria.
