Nigerian duo hip hop stars, Psquare, are currently dominating the Moroccan music industry with their hot song, titled, ‘Shekini,’ according to top Moroccan stars. According to them, Nigerians need to appreciate Psquare’s talents more, considering the wave their music is making around Africa.
One of the Moroccan pop stars, Misle, who was nominated in the category of African Best Pop Star in the recently concluded All African Music Awards, while expressing his dream to feature Psquare in the future, said, “Nigerian artistes are the artistes I respect so much in Africa. I would be honoured if I could have a collaboration with a Nigerian artiste, especially Psquare; they are really crazy and talented.
“If you listen to their track called Shekini, you would understand what I am saying; it is a song that is dominating everywhere in Morocco. They are talented artistes that we love so much in Morocco.”
Another Moroccan artiste, who won an award for the Best Female Artiste in North Africa, Manal BK, while speaking with The Point, said Psquare was a role model to most artistes in the country.
“They are great artistes that we love so much in our country. Nigerian artistes in general are good, but currently in our country, everyone is crazy about Psquare, especially with their song ‘Shekini’. They are one of the few artistes I am looking forward to having collaboration with, soon,” she said.
Psquare was nominated several times for awards of various categories with the track ‘Shekini’, at the just concluded AFRIMA but failed to claim any of the awards.
