A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, has asked the Federal Government to ensure that Tajudeen Baruwa is immediately restored to his office as President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers.
Falana specifically called on the Attorney General of the Federation, Minister of Justice, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Lateef Fagbemi and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to ensure strict compliance with the judgments of the National Industrial Court and the Court of Appeal.
In a press release made available to the media on Monday, the senior advocate went down memory lane to the events of August 2023, when the National Secretariat of the NURTW was reportedly invaded by thugs who killed security men guarding the place, seized the secretariat and effected the ouster of Baruwa as President of the Union.
Falana noted that with the successful challenge of that seizure, the courts have confirmed and recognised Baruwa as the President of the NURTW.
