For people wondering why Femi Jacobs is still single, the actor has dropped a hint.
While speaking with The Point, nominee for the ‘Best Actor in Drama’ at the forthcoming Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards said everyone had different dreams. And for him, he sees marriage a resting place, which would enable him get to another level with his dreams.
He said, “I want to be at a particular level before I go into marriage. There is a space and time for everyone. I love the feelings of love, but I am not a champion of love. If I was a champion for romance, I would have been married in 2005. I just believe romance is part of life and culture too to an extent, though I am not really interested in the culture part of it. But generally, I think love is beautiful when you love and get loved in return.”
According to the actor, marriage has become a cultural issue in this part of world but it should not be.
“I think marriage should be a practical issue and personal to everyone. I have been lucky, I have six siblings and they are all married. I have four older siblings and two younger ones. The pressure is a bit low for me, because my parents have grand children to play with.
” But I do not think we should put pressure on our kids to do things they are not ready for, because it would be counterproductive at the end. As you can see, the rate of divorce is high. This is because most couples are not ready for it. Marriage is intense; it is not something you should do without critical intentions. In another words, being forced into marriage is unwise.”
