Senate, Osun Assembly, Aregbesola, others mourn Adeleke as mourners go on rampage

Members of the Nigerian Senate, Osun state House of Assembly, the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party in the state have mourned the demise of the first civilian governor of the state, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke.
Adeleke, a senator representing Osun west senatorial district, was said to have died at Biket Hospital in Osogbo on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, the state Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, has expressed shock over the demise of the lawmaker, popularly known as “Serubawon,” saying “I am still in shock.”
The governor’s condolence message was contained in a release issued by his Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Semiu Okanlawon, on Sunday.
According to him, the state government found it hard to accept that Adeleke had died. 
The state government, however, condoled with Adeleke’s family, praying that God would grant the family the fortitude to bear the great loss.
Also, the Nigerian Senate has condoled with the people of Osun State and Ede in particular, over the death of their colleague.
The Chip Whip of the Senate, Senator Sola Adeyeye, said that the news of Adeleke’s death got to the upper chamber as a rude shock and big surprise.
Speaking on a television programme monitored by our correspondent in Osogbo, Adeyeye described late Adeleke as a generous and peace loving politician.
In the same vein, the All Progressives Congress at the national and Osun State levels have mourned Adeleke and expressed dismay at the demise of the former governor.
In a release signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, the APC described Adeleke as an astute politician.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party in the state has declared a three-day mourning following the death of Adeleke.
Expressing shock at the development, the party’s chairman, Hon. Soji Adagunodo, said that the party received the news of Adeleke’s death with rude shock.
 
Meanwhile, mourners in Ede and Osogbo have protested the death of Adeleke, claiming that he was killed by some people who were not in support of his governorship ambition in the state.
Adeleke was said to have been making plans to succeed Aregbesola after the next governorship election in the state.
