Senator donates to constituency

Senate Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Francis Alimikhena, representing Edo-North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has brought smiles to faces of the people of his constituency, following the commissioning of several projects across the six local government areas under his jurisdiction.
Commissioning the projects, Alimikhena said, “As from today, these projects are not for the Senator, but they all belong to the people and should be guarded jealously and protected against any vandalism, as there would be some people who will never like anything good.”
He added that the commissioned projects were in fulfillment of his electioneering promises.
The lawmaker, however, appealed to the people, who had yet to benefit from his gesture to be patient, saying that the projects were in phases.
He expressed optimism that, with the signing of the 2017 contingency budget by President Muhammadu Buhari, more projects would be executed in other locations in the
constituency.
Before the commissioning, the Senator, who was in company with his wife, Mrs. Monica Alimikhena, APC leaders and supporters in the area, had earlier visited HRH Alhaji Kadiri Imonikhe Omogbai, the Oghieneni of Uzairue; HRH Alhaji HA Momoh, Ikelebe III; the Otaru of Auchi, HRH Alhaji AYE Dirisu; and the Okuokpellagbe of Okpella, the traditional ruler, whose domain the projects are sited.
The Royal Fathers commended Senator Alimikhena for embarking on people-oriented projects in their areas and assured him that the projects would be protected as their people would continue to support and enjoy dividends of democracy, courtesy of the Senator.
