SERVICOM boss tasks officials on prompt response

The National Coordinator, SERVICOM, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, has called on all nodal officers to ensure prompt response to official files and letters so as to enhance quality service delivery in the country and promote ease of doing business.

Akajemeli made the call during the National Council of SERVICOM Nodal Officers meeting for Ministries, Department and Agencies, MDAs, recently in Abuja.

She urged the officials to ensure that a file or letter does not exceed 24 hours on their desks, adding that prompt response to letters helps a business run better and easily.

“Always acknowledge letters immediately you receive them, we are trying to work on the attitude of officers not responding to their letters or mails and strive to achieve a 24 hours response, highest 48 hours. This culture of never responding to official letters must be changed in the different MDAs.

“We are going to do training on this attitudinal change in the MDAs, to ensure prompt response to mails and after the training, a survey would be conducted after six months to check the level of compliance and that awards would be given to the best agency,” she said.

Akajemeli encouraged the officers to always report any challenge in their MDAs to the SERVICOM office for prompt intervention.

She also advised the nodal officers to prepare and submit their work plan before March 2019 for the endorsement of their management and capture it in the year’s budget and to remain connected with the management of their MDAs and be good ambassadors of SERVICOM.

SERVICOM Nodal Officer at the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Mrs. Ebele Okoye, showcased the new face of SERVICOM at the airport.

Okoye said the new look was to create awareness on the activities of SERVICOM and promote visible quality service.

“The new face involved the officers of the SERVICOM unit wearing a corporate suit with the SERVICOM badge crested on the left-hand side of the suit jacket. The suit would be worn by the officials from Monday to Wednesday, ” she disclosed.
