Ebomhiana Musa, the Chief Press Secretary to the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Phillip Shaibu, has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party in the state.
In his resignation letter addressed to the chairman of the PDP in Ward 5, Etsako Central Local Government on Friday, he said the resignation was with immediate effect.
Ebomhiana said in the letter that he was home sick.
“I want to go back home, the All Progressives Congress where I truly belong as a progressive democrat.”
He recalled that as a loyal and ‘obedient servant’, “I had to escort my boss, Rt Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu to the PDP in 2020. Politically, I have realised that the sojourn was leading me to no where. So, I’m left with no option than to retrace my steps.”
“In all, I must say that my sojourn in PDP was not totally a wasted one, because a lot of political lessons have been learnt, especially the behaviourals of the average Nigerian politician.
“For me, I owe a lot of gratitude to Rt. Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu, immediate past Deputy Governor of our dear Edo State. He remains my boss and my admirer. Of course, the one we fondly call Comrade, Distinguished Senator Adams Oshiomhole, my political mentor and god father who literarily dragged me into partisan politics.”
Ebomhiana, a veteran journalist, was a former Special Adviser on Media to a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole.
He was also a former National Vice President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists.
A pioneer News Editor of the Sun newspaper, Ebomhiana was a one-time board member of the Nigeria Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos.
