Some soldiers in Lagos have apprehended a pastor and his younger brother for allegedly stealing goods worth N580, 000 from a shop.

The soldiers were said to have beaten the suspects before dragging them to the Bariga Police Station, where they were detained.

The suspects identified as Pastor Felix Nwokoyo and his younger brother, Godwin Nwokoyo, were alleged to have connived to steal the goods from a shop belonging to one Otuezu
Amadi.

It was gathered that Godwin, who was a salesman to Amadi, was selling off goods in the shop, but instead of remitting the money to the shop owner, he was allegedly giving the money to the pastor.

The shop owner, Amadi, claimed that he stocked his shop located at Anifowose Street, Shomolu, Bariga, with goods worth over N2.5million, but over time the shop became depleted without any money remitted to
him.

Amadi was said to have told some of his friends who are soldiers, and they swung into action, apprehending and torturing the two brothers over the
matter.

A source at Zone Two Police Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, disclosed that the two suspects were transferred from Bariga Police Station to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, in the metropolis.

The police source also said the matter was later transferred to the Zone Two Police Command, where the matter is now being investigated.

It was gathered that the complainant suspected that the money, which the pastor used in purchasing two tricycles, could be the unremitted proceeds from the sales in his shop.

The police were also said to have impounded the tricycles.

Meanwhile, following the arrest of the pastor and his younger brother, the owners of the land, where the pastor’s church is situated, have taken possession of the property.

They were said to have sent a message to the pastor not to come back to the church
again.
