The apex Igbo sociocultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has called on the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar to perish his thought of contesting the 2027 presidential election instead he should align with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi to be able to route the sitting President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

The sociocultural group dropped the advise after a crucial meeting held in Anambra State.

According to them, any attempt by Atiku and Rabiu Kwankwaso to go into the 2027 presidential election in silos would give the All Progressives Congress a leeway to perpetuate the ruling party in power.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo observed that if Atiku and Kwankwaso failed to align with Obi, it means giving President Tinubu win 2027 presidential election without any resistance.

The sociocultural organization maintained that time has come for Atku to retire from politics and play the elder statesman, rally round Obi and his party to be able to free one party state that the country is headed if the APC is allowed to stay in power beyond 2027.

The statement signed by the general secretary of the factional group of the sociocultural group, Chukwuemeka Isiguozo, said that time has come for Kwankwaso, Atiku and Obi to come together in order to liberate the country from one party state as evidenced in what APC is using the judiciary to do in the country.
