Charles Chukwumah Soludo has been upheld by the Supreme Court as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance for the November 6 governorship polls in Anambra State.

Justice Mary Odili led a five-man panel in the unanimous judgement. It also affirmed Victor Oye as chairman of the party.

The Kano State division of the Court of Appeal had on August 10, 2021, validated the primary election that produced Soludo.

According to the Supreme Court, the appellate court was right when it quashed a Jigawa State High Court judgement that recognised another primary election conducted by a faction of APGA led by Jude Okeke.

In a unanimous judgment, on August 10, 2021, the three-man panel of justices of the Court of Appeal, declared that Justice Ubale Umar of Jigawa High Court lacked the territorial or substantive jurisdiction to pronounce on the dispute arising from the Anambra APGA governorship primary.
